'now you will be speechless and unable to talk
until the day these things take place,
because you did not believe my words,
which will be fulfilled at their proper time.'
Things we see,
things we hear
take our breath away if we let them;
the ordinary and extraordinary events of our week
can rob us of speech.
We ask the Spirit for a greater sense of wonder
as we prepare for
the extraordinary ordinariness
of the birth of a baby,
who sleeps in a cattle feeder
at the back of a hotel.
